How search works under Discover: not one engine, but type-by-type archives that share the same way to filter, sort, and open listings.

There is no single “Discover search”

In the menu, Discover is a hub. It groups different catalogues — People, Businesses, Places, Doctors, Spaces, Curations, and more — each with its own archive.

There is no /discover/ page that mixes everything. You search by opening the archive for the type you need, then using the filters for that catalogue.

Hub overview: What is Discover.

Where search lives (examples)

Menu item Typical archive
People /profiles/
Businesses /businesses/
Places, Doctors, Spaces, Curations, … each with its own archive URL

Same pattern everywhere: menu → type → card list + search controls.

The shared method (every Discover area)

On each archive the mental path is the same:

  1. Open the right archive — the wrong type makes the filters useless.
  2. Search and filter — keywords, place, trade facets (sector, type, …).
  3. Sort — Order By sets order, not who enters the list.
  4. Reset when needed — Reset Filters? when the list feels wrong.
  5. Open a card — calling card in the list → full listing on click.

Exact controls (labels and facets) change by listing type. The method does not.

What you usually meet in the filters

Without dumping every CPT, Discover archives tend to offer:

Control family What it is for
Search / keywords Name or text cues on the listing
Where to look? / area / map Where to look (often with proximity)
Type / trade facets Sector, category, listing type, …
Open Now / hours (where it fits) Only what is open right now
Topics · Interests · Best for Matching — theme, affinity, “ideal for whom”

Quick Search does not replace the archive

In the header, Quick Search (CTRL+K) finds things fast across the whole platform.

Filters inside a Discover archive refine only that catalogue. For sector, area, or Best for on a Business, use /businesses/, not Quick Search alone.

Matching in brief

Topics, Interests, and Best for appear on several Discover archives. They do not replace sector or category: they answer different questions (what it is about / affinities / who it is ideal for).

FAQ

Why is there no single Discover search page?

Because Discover is a menu hub, not one mixed list. Each type (People, Businesses, Places, …) has an archive and filters that fit that job. One blend would bury doctors among restaurants.

Discover → Businesses (/businesses/), then that archive’s filters. Dedicated guide: How to search and filter Businesses.

No. Quick Search is global and fast. Archive filters narrow one catalogue (sector, area, Best for, …).

The method is the same (archive → filters → sort → card). The facets change: each type has controls for its own job.

Matching signals. They sit beside area and trade; they do not replace them. Overview: Topics, Interests, and Best for — how they work.
