Intro

The Blue Lagoon is the turquoise Akamas bay everyone means — sandy bottom, clear water, and a boat or shore approach from the Latchi side.

Overview

The bay sits at Neo Chorio, with a sandy floor, seagrass patches, and high visibility in calm weather. Most visitors arrive by boat from Latchi harbour; shore access exists when the track and sea allow. Go for the colour of the water, pack out everything you bring, and wait for a still day — the bay earns its name when the swell is down. This is the Peyia / Akamas west coast: limestone headlands, coves, and a mix of organised bays and wilder shore. You typically arrive by car from Paphos; some coves need a track or a boat from Latchi. Summer days are hot on open rock and sand — mornings and late afternoon are kinder. Bring more water than you think, and shade, unless you can see rentals on the day. Check the sea before you swim: west-coast swell can change quickly. Park only where the ground is already used; leave dunes, nests, and marked protection zones alone, and take every scrap of rubbish home.
