Overview

The Society for the Protection of Turtles (SPOT) runs the Alagadi Conservation Centre. From late May to late September the centre is staffed roughly 09:00–20:30 for daytime visits, displays, and a short film. During the season the nesting beach is closed to the public at night, and access roads are locked. Night turtle watching, nest excavations, and hatchling releases run only through SPOT bookings (places are limited; a sighting is never guaranteed). Swim in daylight, keep off marked nests, and join night visits only with SPOT. Neighbouring listings cover the same turtle coast. This is the Kyrenia north coast: a mix of town beaches, village shores, and rocky coves east and west of the harbour. You typically arrive by car along the coastal road. Summer days are busy near town; village stretches stay quieter. Pack shade, water, and shoes unless you see rentals, and watch your footing on rock shelves. Check the sea before you swim — north-coast weather turns quickly. Parking is whatever the coast road still offers; walking the last minutes is common. Take rubbish with you, and keep a quiet village shore tidy for the next swim.
