Born on 22 April 2016, he lives at a small private yard on the Tombs of the Kings road, on the western side of Paphos. The plot holds a stable, a sand school, and a turnout that finds shade by mid-morning. At ten he is in light work, forward and sensitive in the way of the breed, and he settles for a short session and a walk home on a loose rein.

Rides leave early along the tracks above Kato Paphos and finish before the tourist traffic. The grey coat lightens each year and wants a full groom after sand, plus a daily look at feet and skin. Hay and water are the standing parts of the day.

Friends who already ride come out with his person. The rail is the place for everyone else. If you are on the coast road at sunrise and a grey horse is heading toward the headland, that is Sirocco.

Feed is hay through the day and a small hard feed after work, soaked in summer. Feet are picked before and after every ride, and a farrier visits on a set week rather than when something looks wrong. A fly sheet goes on once the Paphos heat settles, and turnout moves fully under the shade sail by ten. The yard is private, the gate stays shut, and the grey horse on the dawn track has one rider he already knows.
